I had the most wonderful holiday foxhunting with Gerry in late January 2012. I was able to hunt with 4 different hunts and see some different parts of the countryside, and how the different clubs work. I rode 2 different horses, both very well trained and safe. As an experienced rider they were also responsive and rose to the occasion of the more difficult terrians which was really fun for me. I traveled by myself and Gerry was most accommodating about making sure my trip was hassle free and on my non-hunting days pointed me in the right direction for some great sightseeing.
I would recommend Loughrea Equestrian for anyone looking for a safe yet adventurous riding vacation in Ireland. I had the time of my life and hope to be able to return some day.

Meme apres des annees sans monter a cheval, les deux jours de promenade ont ete superbes. Pas d'inquietudes, pas de problemes, mais beaucoup d'exercice et de plaisir !Des passages magnifiques dans des paysages perdus et sauvages, parfois au milieu de chevaux en liberte, une fois sur une route ou nous etions les premiers depuis 150 ans...
Un vrai bonheur, assez sportif et a refaire !
Merci a Gerry, aux chevaux (merci Casper pour ta patience !)et a la tres gentille cuisiniere venue combler nos estomacs !

A wonderful trail whereas the sun ran away from us, the landscapes were amazing and I felt really confortable and secure. I recommand this address for the riders who want to have fun and sport.
Une incroyable balade bien que le soleil nous ait fuit. Les paysages sont grandioses et ont se sens en securite avec le moniteur.

We had an absolutely fantastic 2-day horse (6 and 7 hours)trail with Gerry and his daughters. We were made very welcome, the horses were great and suited our individual riding experience perfectly. We rode through lovely countryside, jumped over ditches, rode up and down steep slopes, saw derelict houses from the time of the famine and had a gorgeous view over different counties and saw wild ponies.We always felt very safe, Gerry also provided body protectors for our girls (aged 10 and 12).
We were offered delicious lunch with barbecue organised by Gerry and his lovely wife and their children in the middle of the beautiful countryside.
It was an experience to remember, to definitely recommend and hopefully to be repeated next year.

Rebecca HolmesThis was hands DOWN one of the best experiences I had in Ireland. I was lucky enough to head out on a trail by myself with Gerry, and we did a 4 hour ride! It had been years since I went riding, but Gerry was able to help me get back used to being in the saddle, and bring me into some challenging terrain. He even stopped to take pictures for me, all of which came out great when he EMAILED them to me. Seriously, this facility is amazing and the experience could not have been better. Beautiful horses and a wonderful guide!

No better way to see Irelands rugged terrain then on horse back! The hospitality was outstanding, a personalized trail to suit my level of confidence was ensured, and 'Charlie' the horse had a wonderful personality that made the ride even more enjoyable! An experience that I will never forget! Thank you Gerry, you far out weighed my expectations. I'm already looking forward to visiting ireland again, next time I'll definitely give hunting a go! Had an absolute cracking time at Loughrea Equestrian Centre. Nicole, my daughter & I took a 1 day local trail through the Slieve Aughty Mountains. Our expectations were more than exceeded, horses & ponies are just splendid, in appearance and behaviour, the scenery is awesome and the trail had everything to offer from the novice to the highly experienced. We got a great buzz from start to finish, working our way up and back down through the beautiful forest, clearing jumps along the way on some of the awesome natural trails.
